Victorian Swiss 18-Karat Gold Pocket Watch with Chain or Necklace
Date: 19th Century
Dimensions: H 1cm W 3cm D 4cm
Very decorative and cute ladies gold pocket watch with the most beautiful gold watch chain necklace I ever have seen on a pocket watch. This gold double linked chain can be worn as a long or short necklace.
On the back of the watch case engravings and embossing show a flower with leaves, a swallow and in the middle a pretty curly 'M' . This is absolutely the 'pretty side' of the watch pendant.
The clock side has an enamel dial with hand-painted Arabic numerals.
This Swiss 18-karat gold pocket watch case has a 18-karat mark, a number 292957 and a Helvetia (head) mark with the initial G in it, it means it was made in Geneva. These hallmarks are seen on the vast majority of Swiss watches with gold cases made between 1880 and 1907.
Inside on the back of the watch it says Dualite Soigner 10 Rubis
Setting time means opening the front glass and adjust the hands of time very careful manually. It runs, if you wear it and shake it from time to time.
Measurement of the watch pendant are
D x W x H: 1 x 3 x 4cm (0.4 x 1.2 x 1.6 inch)
length of the chain is 46cm/18.1 inch (short version)
or 89cm/35inch (long version).
