This is a very cool guy. It’s a portrait of the Strongest Man of the World attraction on a carnival in the mid 19th to early 20th century. The brown color, or maybe the shape of his head, makes him a bit exotic too. This head was probably used as an advertisement piece somewhere in or around the tent. It’s all wood carved and beautifully painted. I was very happy to run into this rare and collectible item. A strong piece (pardon the pun).
