This toy was origionaly designed by LOUIS C. PETERSEN. He was Director of Manual Arts, State Normal University, Carbondale, Illinois. Since then many fathers and boys have created one of his many designs. This toy is from the 20's. It is rusted completely but it still works and looks fantastic.
