Very pretty and large Indonesian meticulously carved dark coffee color Sarawak amber octopus
The amber from Indonesia is a fossil tree resin (from Shorea tree) found in association with coal and lignite which is about 15 to 17 million years old (from Miocene period).
Sarawak amber comes in many tones and colors.
Generally Borneo amber comes in all brown tones including brownish white, yellow, orange, red, brown and dark black. Sometimes the rainbows of colors occurs in one single amber.
This would be a great addition to a curiosity cabinet.
