Green mottled slag glass and etched bronze desk set by Tiffany Studios New York, consisting of a little hinged lid box a lidded inkwell both in the Pine needle pattern and a pen wipe and pen tray both in the Grapevine pattern. |
Each piece stamped 'Tiffany Studios New York' and numbered on the bottom.
The grapevine and pine-needle patterns in addition to the typical patinated bronze creates an effect similar to that of stained-glass windows. The pine needle pattern desk set was first introduced in 1899 and remained in production for approximately 20 years.

Covered inkwell: Square shaped inkwell on four ball feet with open bronze pine needle design over green slag glass. Beaded rims and a domed hinged cover. Marked TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK and numbered 844.
measurements: 10 x 10 x 9cm or 3.9" x 3.9" x 3.5"

Pen wipe: S- shaped fully bronze pot grape vine design with its original brush, held together at the base with Lead. The only piece of this set that doesn't have inlaid glass. Marked TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 982.
measurements: 5.5 x 5.5cm (diameter and hight) or 2.2" x 2.2"

Stamp or desk box: Rectangular beaded edge desk box with a hinged lid and pierced pine needle design over slag glass. Marked TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK no stamped number but a engraved by hand: z (or 8) k z º 54
measurements: 17 x 10.5 x 6cm or 6.7" x 4.1" x 2.4"

Pen tray: Long rectangular pen tray on four ball feet with open bronze grape vine design over green slag glass. Marked TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1004.
Measurements: 24.5 x 7 x 2cm or 9.6" x 2.8" x 0.8".
